The Historical Center's current events include the sucessful Music Day project, where more than 200 artists converge on the same day. Five stages are set-up, starting at Machado Square, all the way to the Olas Altas area. In its edition, this music marathon will offer five hours of continuous entertainment, with the performance of 19 musical groups. Local, out-of-State and foreign artists take part in this outdoor music celebration, with a selection of diverse musical genres, from classical and contemporary music to local band and tropical music, alternative and rock music, among others.
Organized by the Proyecto Centro Histórico, A.C., This an annual music celebration aimed at promoting all the tourist attractions of Mazatlán´s Historical Center. Stages are strategically-placed on key streets in the area, occasionally using a closed venue such as the Angela Peralta Theater, to promote the architectural beauty of the buildings that line this 19th Century historical district.
During Music Day, local, out of State and foreign musicians and singing artists perform a wide array of music genres, and gather thousands of local as well as tourist music-lovers within the narrow streets of the Historical Center.
This music celebration showcases artistic talents, provides a stage for music students from the Municipal School for the Arts of Mazatlán, and offers high-quality music performances to all audiences.
