The Mexico Tourism Board (CPTM) reiterates tourism support for Mazatlan


Lourdes Berho Corona, General Director of the Mexico Tourism Board, recognized the port as one of the top tourist destinations in the country with the best results in tourism and growth expectations

The Mexico Tourism Board (CPTM) reiterated support for Mazatlan’s tourism efforts to promote the destination and recognized the city as one of the main tourist destinations in the country with the highest results in visitation, air connectivity, investment, recovered cruise tourism, hotel occupancy and growth expectations.

The Secretary of Tourism, Rafael Lizarraga Favela and Carlos Berdegué, vice-president of the Mazatlan Hotel Association, presented Mazatlan’s recent tourism results and achievements to Lourdes Berho Corona, General Director of the CPTM.

During the meeting, the head of the CPTM reiterated institutional support for Mazatlan’s promotional campaigns and national and international, cooperative and commercial partners advertising, in an effort to continue to position the coastal city as a destination of choice for tourists.

Berho Corona said, “We will continue to support Mazatlan to create new flights and routes to strengthen national and international air connectivity.”

CPTM and the Mazatlan tourims sector have also agreed to strengthen coordination activities between to increase the number of familiarization trips for specialized media to enhance the positioning of Mazatlan in national and international markets.

Also, the head of CPTM recognized Mazatlan as one of the main tourist centers nationwide that has demonstrated that with organization and work, a destination can turned around in a very short time. 

In attendance was Gilberto Aviles, the Director of  Airlines Committee of Mazatlan the Mazatlan Tourism Board; Julio Birrueta, Director of the Mazatlan Tourism Board; and Marie Antoinette Ortiz Bravo, Director of Commercial Operation of the CPTM for the Northern Region of the country.
